The Fen Men
Based in the Newpark Close Family Resource Centre, but with devotees citywide, the Fen Men meet every week for recreation, fun and frivolity.
Currently, members participate in digital photography, computer classes, community activities, cards, darts, bowls, trail walking and golf. Importantly, conversation, allied with tea and biscuits, is a vital ingredient of team bonding.
In the past, the group have also taken trips to locations such as Rothe House, Altamont Gardens, Kilkenny Castle and the Croke Park Museum.
Encouraged by Caitriona Corr, under the auspices of Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership, the group has added cycling to its repertoire, utilising the comprehensive network of designated cycle lanes.
